Closing Doors and New Beginnings

Well my friends, I feel today is the most appropriate day to put an end to the blogosphere chapter of cancerville. Or at least as much of an end as I can. Fourteen years ago today marks the anniversary of my dad's untimely death. And though it saddens my heart every year and never gets easier, I can confidently say that with my good health reports from last month that today warrants a different end. I went and had the series of tests that normally happens at each check-up and got the results shortly thereafter. With each passing appointment that comes out NED (no evidence of disease), it makes life a little smoother and takes off a bit more of the burden. I think my dad would be proud of the woman and survivor I've become and happy for me to put write the ending of this chapter and move forward. He may be gone but forever here in spirit. To closing doors and new beginnings.
